Chaps Choices – GW25

We bring to you a new format for our weekly blog posts… Chaps Choices!!  This article combines our two standard weekly blogs, Calculating The Cleanie and Punting For Gold, to create a starting eleven of Premier League Draft Fantasy Football differential picks!

Whether you play Draft Fantasy or Fantrax platforms, this article is here to give you hints and tips to help you find your golden ticket to a big score.  We recommend a team of Draft Fantasy differentials and Fantrax differentials who could score big in the upcoming gameweek.

We use the ownership statistics as per Draft Fantasy and Fantrax with the rules being each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 35% or below on DFF, and 60% or below on Fantrax (at the time of writing).  That way there’s a good chance each player will be a free agent in your Draft Fantasy Football League!  Use these suggestions to give your team a little boost with a one week Punt!

Double GW25… For Some!

GW25 brings us our first double GW of the season… sort of!  Official FPL and Draft Fantasy have included the additional fixture of Everton v Manchester City in GW25… but Fantrax seem to have added this fixture as the opening game of GW26.  Weird!!  Anyway, GW25 is a double for our Draft Fantasy team, but not for our Fantrax team!

Draft Fantasy Alternative XI:

**35% ownership or below**

gw25dff

FWD: Luciano Vietto

Team:  Fulham

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Away)

Ownership:  8% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:   The Argentinean forward came on at half time in GW24, and was heavily involved in changing the game for Fulham.  They were losing 2-0 when Vietto came on, and ended up winning 4-2!!  Vietto bagged a goal in this appearance, and looks set to start this weekend as Fulham face a trip to Crystal PalaceNiasse (5% DFF) is an alternative here for an under the radar player – he looks set to lead the line for Cardiff, as they host Bournemouth.

GW25 Points Scored:  1

FWD: Ashley Barnes

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Southampton (Home)

Ownership:  18% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Barnes scored his fifth goal of the season at Old Trafford in GW24, and has a good chance of adding to his tally this weekend as Burnley face Southampton.  To be honest, any of Burnley’s attacking assets could be included here, but we’re going with BarnesWood (30% DFF) and McNeil (1% DFF) could score well this weekend too.

GW25 Points Scored:  5

MID: Bernard

Team:  Everton

Opponent:  Wolves (Home), Manchester City (Home)

Ownership:  13% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Two games for the Brazilian this gameweek… he’s not showing great form, and isn’t guaranteed to play both games, but he’s worth a gamble for the double gameweek banter!!  In GW24 Bernard started ahead of Walcott and Lookman, so Silva obviously see’s something in him, despite a fairly poor first six months at the club.  The weekend fixture against Wolves should be an entertaining one, and this is the one we’re eyeing up a Bernard attacking return for!

GW25 Points Scored:  2

MID: Pascal Gross

Team:  Brighton

Opponent:  Watford (Home)

Ownership:  29% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Gross has been upping his game in recent weeks, and has been going slightly under the radar whilst picking up three attacking returns in the last four games.  This weekend Brighton face Watford at home, and will be looking to get back on track after the 4-2 defeat to Fulham.  Gross has a good chance of gaining further attacking returns.

GW25 Points Scored:  6

MID: Andros Townsend

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Fulham (Home)

Ownership:  34% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Townsend has been showing some great form in recent weeks, and is getting back to his best.  He seems to play every minute of every game for the Eagles, and has bagged attacking returns in his last two games.  This weekend Palace face Fulham in front of their own fans, and a win is surely on the cards.  We’ll happily include Townsend in our Draft Fantasy side while his ownership is still below 35%!

GW25 Points Scored:  3

MID: Jota

Team:  Wolves

Opponent:  Everton (Away)

Ownership:  29% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Jota has been on fantastic form in his recent appearances – eight attacking returns in his last six games!!  The hat-trick in GW23 brought him to all of our attentions, but he was actually doing pretty well before this.  This weekend Wolves face Everton, and now that Jota is playing in a front two alongside Jimenez, he looks very dangerous.  Worth snapping him up if you still can.  Team mate Moutinho (19% DFF) is a good alternative.

GW25 Points Scored:  5

DEF: Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Fulham (Home)

Ownership:  29% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Wan-Bissaka has been terrific this season, and his ownership is still surprisingly low on Draft Fantasy.  Crystal Palace do face a Fulham side who bagged four in GW24, but we think they have a decent chance of gaining a shut-out this weekend.  Sakho (20% DFF) is an alternative if AWB is taken by a fellow manager.

GW25 Points Scored:  5

DEF: Shane Duffy

Team:  Brighton

Opponent:  Watford (Home)

Ownership:  29% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects: We fancy Brighton for a clean sheet this weekend, as they face a Watford side who have largely struggled in front of goal in recent times.  Duffy is nailed on, and has goal threat to go with the clean sheet potential.  Team mate Montoya (0% DFF) is also a good choice here – he gained an assist in GW24!

GW25 Points Scored:  6

DEF: Kurt Zouma

Team:  Everton

Opponent:  Wolves (Home), Manchester City (Home)

Ownership:  10% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Zouma has started eight games in a row for Everton, and helped them to two clean sheets in the last three games.  GW25 is a double gameweek for the Toffees on Draft Fantasy, as they host Wolves and Manchester CityZouma is well worth a punt considering he has two games!  Coleman (34% DFF) is an alternative here, as his ownership has crept under our 35% threshold.

GW25 Points Scored:  1

DEF: Danilo

Team:  Manchester City

Opponent:  Arsenal (Away), Everton (Away)

Ownership:  21% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  The Brazilian continues to start for City in the Premier League, making it six games in a row after his GW24 appearance.  Danilo may not start both games in this double gameweek, but he’ll at least play one of them!  Worth a gamble considering he’s playing for one of the best teams in the league.

GW25 Points Scored:  0

GK: Tom Heaton

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Southampton (Home)

Ownership:  19% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Prospects:  Burnley have been a different side since Heaton was restored to the team in GW20; five games unbeaten!!  In GW24 they ended Manchester United’s winning run under Solskjaer!  This weekend the Clarets face Southampton at home, and they have a decent chance of gaining a clean sheet, despite the Saints recent upturn in form.  Tarkowski (32% DFF) and Mee (11% DFF) are decent alternatives if its a defender you’re after.

Fantrax Alternative XI (Togga Scoring):

**60% ownership or below**

gw25fantrax

FWD: Luciano Vietto

Team:  Fulham

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Away)

Ownership:  15% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  The Argentinean forward came on at half time in GW24, and was heavily involved in changing the game for Fulham.  They were losing 2-0 when Vietto came on, and ended up winning 4-2!!  Vietto bagged a goal in this appearance, and looks set to start this weekend as Fulham face a trip to Crystal Palace.  Due to his good link up play, he looks like a fairly decent Togga scorer, even without attacking returns.

GW25 Points Scored:  2.5

FWD: Ashley Barnes

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Southampton (Home)

Ownership:  28% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  Barnes scored his fifth goal of the season at Old Trafford in GW24, and has a good chance of adding to his tally this weekend as Burnley face Southampton.  To be honest, any of Burnley’s attacking assets could be included here, but we’re going with Barnes as his points scoring ability isn’t completely goal dependent!  Wood (26% Fantrax) and McNeil (29% Fantrax) could score well this weekend too.  McNeil especially – he doesn’t need attacking returns to score well.

GW25 Points Scored:  15

FWD: Fernando Llorente

Team:  Tottneham

Opponent:  Newcastle (Home)

Ownership:  40% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  The big man gained a goal and an assist in the GW24 victory over Watford, and looks set to start once again this weekend as Tottenham face Newcastle.  We thought Llorente may be the one to drop out of the side when Son and Moura came back into the fold, but that may not be the case!

GW25 Points Scored:  11.5

MID: Ashley Westwood

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Southampton (Home)

Ownership:  28% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  We successfully backed Westwood in GW24, and we’re going back for more considering his consistent Togga scoring ability.  The English midfielder gained an assist against United, and has now gained double figure returns in four of his last five games.  This weekend Burnley face Southampton, and Westwood has a good chance of picking up another good score.

GW25 Points Scored:  6

MID: Ryan Babel

Team:  Fulham

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Away)

Ownership:  37% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  Babel gained two assists in the 4-2 victory over Brighton in GW24, and picked up a big score in Togga.  Snap him up while you still can!  This weekend Fulham face Crystal Palace, and although we are backing Palace to win, Babel should still score well due to his ability to provide key passes.

GW25 Points Scored:  -2.5

MID: James Ward-Prowse

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Burnley (Away)

Ownership:  50% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  Three goals in three games for Ward-Prowse, and he scores fairly well on Togga even without the need for attacking returns.  If the Southampton youngster is a free agent in your Draft League, you need to sign him!  This weekend the Saints face a trip to Burnley.

GW25 Points Scored:  10.5

DEF: Callum Chambers

Team:  Fulham

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Away)

Ownership:  29% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  Two big Togga scores in a row for Chambers… he’s looking like an essential pick up!  Get him while you still can!!  The youngster bagged a goal in GW24, and has every chance of doing the same in GW25… a defender who plays in midfield, yes please!  Chambers gained a double figure points return in the GW23 loss to Tottenham, so he’s certainly not goal or clean sheet dependent.  Lovely stuff.

GW25 Points Scored:  6

DEF: Kurt Zouma

Team:  Everton

Opponent:  Wolves (Home)

Ownership:  28% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  Zouma again?  Yep.  Why’s his ownership still so low??!?!?  Three scores of 17 or above in the last three games, Wolves at home in GW25, and a Fantrax double gameweek in GW26… sign him up while you still can!  The Frenchman has been performing very well in the Everton backline, and is nailed on at centre back alongside Keane.

GW25 Points Scored:  3.25

DEF: Jan Bednarek

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Burnley (Away)

Ownership:  8% (Fantrax)

Prospects: Bednarek has been scoring extremely well in Togga scoring in recent weeks – he gained a monster score in GW23 despite not getting attacking returns or a clean sheet!!  Its on that basis that the Polish defender gets the nod in our team for the second consecutive gameweek.  This weekend Southampton face Burnley; we’re not expecting a clean sheet, but Bednarek should perform well heading away crosses put in for Wood and Barnes!  Vestergaard (21% Fantrax) is, as ever, a very good alternative here.

GW25 Points Scored:  19.25

DEF: Martin Montoya

Team:  Brighton

Opponent:  Watford (Home)

Ownership:  2% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  We fancy Brighton for a clean sheet this weekend, as they face a Watford side who have largely struggled in front of goal in recent times.  Montoya scores fairly well in Togga scoring, and has attacking potential too – he provided an assist in GW24!

GW25 Points Scored:  17.5

GK: Tom Heaton

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Southampton (Home)

Ownership:  33% (Fantrax)

Prospects:  Burnley have been a different side since Heaton was restored to the team in GW20; five games unbeaten!!  In GW24 they ended Manchester United’s winning run under Solskjaer!  This weekend the Clarets face Southampton at home, and they have a decent chance of gaining a clean sheet, despite the Saints’ recent upturn in form.
