Fantrax Chaps Choices – GW28

Our weekly Chaps Choices article is here to give you hints and tips to help you find your golden ticket to a big score using our Alternative XI.  We recommend a starting eleven of Premier League Draft Fantasy Football differential picks, who could score big in the upcoming gameweek!

For this article we use the ownership statistics as per Fantrax (using Togga scoring), with the rules being each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 60% or below, at the time of writing.  This way there’s a good chance some of these players will be free agents in your Draft Fantasy Football League.  Use these suggestions to give your team a little boost with a one week punt!

Fantrax Alternative XI (Togga Scoring):

**60% ownership or below**

Draft Fantasy Football GW28 Fantrax

🍷 FWD: Chris Wood 🍷

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Newcastle (Away)

Ownership:  37% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  11.25 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Burnley have been on amazing form recently, with Wood, Barnes (50% Fantrax), and McNeil (42% Fantrax) providing managers with consistently great returns (all three feature in our Hot List).  For GW28 we’re backing Wood as he’s the lowest owned out of the three.  The big Kiwi striker has four goals in his last four games, and is likely to add to this tally over the next couple of games.  Burnley face Newcastle in GW28, in what should be an entertaining encounter.  The added bonus here is that Wood also has a game during the upcoming Blank GW31, so he’s worth signing up and keeping over the upcoming fixtures!

GW28 Points Scored:  5.5

⚫️ MID: Miguel Almiron ⚪️

Team:  Newcastle

Opponent:  Burnley (Home)

Ownership:  60% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  14.5 (since Jan 12) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  After a successful 18 minute cameo in GW26, we earmarked Almiron for a big GW27, and he duly delivered 24 points to our Chaps Choices lineup.  This, despite not gaining any attacking returns.  The Paraguayan international produced 6 key passes, and 3 shots of targets en route to this monster score!  If Almiron is still a free agent in your Draft League it is essential you sign him right now.  In GW28, Newcastle face Burnley at home, and we’re expecting a similar points scoring show from Almiron; he just looks like a player made for Togga scoring!  Newcastle also have a fixture during the upcoming Blank GW31!

GW28 Points Scored:  7

😇 MID: James Ward-Prowse 😇

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Fulham (Home)

Ownership:  59% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  12.4 (since Jan 12) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  JWP has been scoring extremely well in Togga since being installed into the starting eleven just before Christmas.  The young midfielder has been putting on some great performances, but has seen his ownership drop after a recent tough fixture list for the Saints.  In GW28, Southampton face Fulham at home… the perfect opportunity for Ward-Prowse to gain a good score before hitting harder fixtures once again.  Sign him up for this game if you can!

GW28 Points Scored:  23

🔵 MID: Joe Ralls 🔵

Team:  Cardiff

Opponent:  Everton (Home)

Ownership:  20% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  6.5 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Our pick for an under the radar midfielder who scores consistently without setting anything alight, is Joe Ralls.  The Cardiff midfielder has been ticking along nicely in recent weeks, and managed to bag 11 points during the 5-1 loss to Watford in GW27.  Cardiff face an out of sorts Everton in GW28 and Ralls has a good chance of a decent score!  Dendoncker (12% Fantrax) and Westwood (33% Fantrax) offer decent alternatives here for a consistent scoring central midfielder.

GW28 Points Scored:  0

🦊 MID: Harvey Barnes 🦊

Team:  Leicester

Opponent:  Brighton (Home)

Ownership:  19% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  9.7 (since Jan 12)

Prospects: Harvey Barnes has been playing extremely well since returning from a successful loan spell at West Brom, and has been gaining consistent Togga scores despite just two attacking returns.  This form has seen him join our Hot List.  Barnes was Leicester’s best player during the GW27 defeat to Crystal Palace, and gained 19 points despite the heavy defeat.  GW28 sees now manager less Leicester face Brighton at home, and Barnes is likely to be a key man once again.  Snap him up if you still can, he looks golden for the season run in.  And as an added bonus, Leicester have a Blank GW31 fixture!

GW28 Points Scored:  8

🔵 MID: Solly March ⚪️

Team:  Brighton

Opponent:  Leicester (Away)

Ownership:  58% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  7.4 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  March has seen his ownership drop below our 60% threshold, but we’ll take full advantage of this after Brighton’s recent blank GW.  March is a consistent Togga scorer, and should perform well in GW28, as Brighton face a manager less Leicester side coming off the back of an embarrassing home defeat to Crystal Palace.  March is well worth a punt for GW28 if you can, he’s averaged x points per game since the turn of the year.

GW28 Points Scored:  3.5

🐺 DEF: Ryan Bennett 🐺

Team:  Wolves

Opponent:  Huddersfield (Away)

Ownership:  49% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  4.75 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  GW28 sees wolves take a trip to Huddersfield, and although they haven’t been amazing at the back recently, you’ve got to back them against bottom of the league.  Bennett offers a chance to get in on the Wolves backline, and although he hasn’t scored that well recently, he’s worth a shot considering the fixture!  Lindelof (43% Fantrax) is a great alternative here if you don’t trust the Wolves defence!

GW28 Points Scored:  -1.25

⚫️ DEF: Fabian Schar ⚪️

Team:  Newcastle

Opponent:  Burnley (Home)

Ownership:  55% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  15.7 (since Jan 12) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Fabian Schar is a Togga scoring legend, which has seen him join our Hot List.  If you haven’t already picked up on this, shame on you!  We mean… go sign him right now!  Schar has averaged 15 points per game since the turn of the year, and we’re backing him once again after doing so successfully in GW27 where he gained 17.25 points!  This gameweek Newcastle face Burnley at home, and although The Clarets have been on great form, Schar should be able to get another decent score.  Team mate Lejeune (6% Fantrax) is a great alternative here if Schar has been taken by a fellow manager.  Both of these Chaps have a game during the Blank GW31 too!

GW28 Points Scored:  29.25

😇 DEF: Jan Bednarek 😇

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Fulham (Home)

Ownership:  11% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  10.9 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Bednarek has been sensational on Togga scoring since coming into the side.  On several occasions he’s scored big without the need for attacking returns or clean sheets.  Magic.  His ownership has fallen once again, and with Southampton playing a poor Fulham side in front of their own fans, Bednarek has a great chance of scoring big.  With Fulham likely to play lots of long balls up to Mitrovic, Bednarek is likely to win lots of aerials, and gain another great score.

GW28 Points Scored:  17.5

😇 DEF: Jannick Vestergaard 😇

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Fulham (Home)

Ownership:  20% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  6 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Much like the above, Vestergaard offers a great chance of big points as Southampton face Fulham.  The big Danish centre back doesn’t score as well as Bednarek, but he should still score well considering the fixture.  All aboard the Southampton train for GW28!

GW28 Points Scored:  12.5

🍷 GK: Tom Heaton 🍷

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Newcastle (Away)

Ownership:  44% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  8.4 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Burnley have gone an amazing eight games unbeaten since Heaton returned to the side, most recently beating championship chasing Tottenham in GW27.  The Clarets face Newcastle next, and although they might not keep a clean sheet, Heaton should score well based on making saves.  He’s been doing well for points without a clean sheet in recent weeks.  Heaton’s opposite number Dubravka (46% Fantrax) is also a decent shout for a keeper for this GW.  Both of these Chaps have a fixture during the upcoming Blank GW31, so would be well worth signing up ready for that fixture!

GW28 Points Scored:  0.75

GW28 Team Points:  105.75

GW28 Team Average Score:  9.6 points per player

GW28 Average Ownership:  39%
