Fantrax Chaps Choices – GW29

Our weekly Chaps Choices article is here to give you hints and tips to help you find your golden ticket to a big score using our Alternative XI.  We recommend a starting eleven of Premier League Draft Fantasy Football differential picks, who could score big in the upcoming gameweek!

For this article we use the ownership statistics as per Fantrax (using Togga scoring), with the rules being each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 60% or below, at the time of writing.  This way there’s a good chance some of these players will be free agents in your Draft Fantasy Football League.  Use these suggestions to give your team a little boost with a one week punt!

Fantrax Alternative XI (Togga Scoring):

**60% ownership or below**

Draft Fantasy Football GW29 Fantrax

🍷 FWD: Ashley Barnes 🍷

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Home)

Ownership:  55% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  12 (since Jan 12) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Ashley Barnes has been on sensational form recently, and although he didn’t score in GW28, we’re backing him to find his goal scoring form once again in GW29.  Burnley face a Palace side who will be without their best defender in Sakho… all aboard the Barnes Bus!  Sign him up if you can, Burnley have guaranteed GW31 and 33 fixtures, and are on good form.  Team mate Wood (45% Fantrax) is, as ever, a good alternative.

GW29 Points Scored:  14.5

🐶 FWD: Karlan Grant 🐶

Team:  Huddersfield

Opponent:  Brighton (Away)

Ownership:  2% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  5.8 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  This weeks random pick goes to Karlan Grant.  The forward arrived with little fanfare during the January Transfer Window, and has slowly been integrated into the side.  Grant was handed his first start for Huddersfield in GW28, played 90 minutes, and bagged 14 points on Fantrax!  His all round stats were good, picking up points for shots as well as key passes.  This weekend the Terriers face Brighton, and we’re backing Grant to start once again, and pick up another decent ‘ghost’ score.  Worth a shot if you’re struggling for a forward!

GW29 Points Scored:  -1

🦊 MID: Demarai Gray 🦊

Team:  Leicester

Opponent:  Watford (Away)

Ownership:  35% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  8.7 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  All aboard the Brendan Rogers train!!  Toot toot!  Demarai Gray has gone somewhat under the radar in recent weeks, as team mates Maddison, Tielemans, and Barnes have taken centre stage.  Gray has actually averaged 8.7 points per game since January 12th, so he’s been ticking along nicely.  The youngster produced a goal an a 18.5 point return in GW28, so he looks set to start once again in GW29 as Leicester face a trip to Watford.  A Watford side that has just conceded five goals to Liverpool… the prospects look good!

GW29 Points Scored:  -0.5

⚫️ MID: Isaac Hayden ⚪️

Team:  Newcastle

Opponent:  West Ham (Away)

Ownership:  22% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  13.9 (since Jan 12) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Hayden has been outshone by new signing Almiron the last couple of games, but the young midfielder has been performing extremely well.  Hayden has averaged 13.9 points since January 12th!!  He’s been picking up a good amount of attacking returns, but GW28 showed us that he’s not actually dependent on attacking returns; he gained 12 points without any.  Lovely stuff.  Exactly what we want from a Togga midfielder.  This weekend Hayden faces a trip to West Ham, and we’re backing him for another decent score.  Now that Almiron’s ownership is above our 60% threshold, Hayden is our Newcastle boy!

GW29 Points Scored:  1.5

🔵 MID: Davy Propper ⚪️

Team:  Brighton

Opponent:  Huddersfield (Home)

Ownership:  8% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  8 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  We highlighted Propper a few weeks back as a good midfielder to have in deeper leagues, as he ticks along nicely with scores around the 8 mark.  The Dutchman scored in GW28, and his prospects look good once again for GW29, as Brighton face Huddersfield in a must win game.  Propper should score well as the Seagulls will look to dominate the game.  Team mates Knockaert (39% Fantrax) and March (59% Fantrax) are good alternatives if you fancy a more attacking option!

GW29 Points Scored:  9.5

🦊 MID: Harvey Barnes 🦊

Team:  Leicester

Opponent:  Watford (Away)

Ownership:  27% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  9.4 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Harvey Barnes is the man of the moment.  He’s been playing extremely well since returning from his loan spell at West Brom in January, and has been Leicester’s best player in recent games despite not finding the back of the net.  Barnes has been on our Hot List for the last few weeks!  This weekend the Foxes face a trip to Watford, and spirits will be high after the GW28 win over Brighton, coupled with the arrival of new manager Brendan Rogers.  Barnes looks good for the coming weeks, which includes guaranteed GW31 and 33 fixtures.  Team mate Tielemans (50% Fantrax) is a good alternative; he gained an assist in GW28.

GW29 Points Scored:  1

🔵 DEF: Martin Montoya ⚪️

Team:  Brighton

Opponent:  Huddersfield (Home)

Ownership:  3% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  6.1 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Brighton have been disappointing in recent weeks, but a home fixture against bottom of the league Huddersfield… how can we not back them?!  With Duffy holding very high ownership, we’re taking a punt on Spanish right-back Montoya.  We backed him to a score of 17.5 in GW25, and we’re hoping for another big score this weekend!

GW29 Points Scored:  13.25

⚫️ DEF: Fabian Schar ⚪️

Team:  Newcastle

Opponent:  West Ham (Away)

Ownership:  55% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  17.9 (since Jan 12) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  We told you last week that Schar was a Togga scoring legend, and he didn’t disappoint!!  29.75 points in GW28Schar continues to perform well, and scored a great goal from outside the box in GW28.  Pretty impressive for a big centre back.  His ownership is still somehow below 60%, so we’re featuring him yet again as Newcastle face a trip to West Ham.  He will surely be over our 60% threshold when GW30 rolls around.  Team mate Lejeune (11% Fantrax) is a good alternative here, as Newcastle have been playing very well recently.

GW29 Points Scored:  -5

👹 DEF: Victor Lindelof 👹

Team:  Manchester United

Opponent:  Southampton (Home)

Ownership:  46% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  10.7 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Lindelof has seriously upped his game since Solskjaer took over as boss… he’s been in our Hot List ever since!  The Swedish centre back has averaged 10.7 points per game in Togga since January 12th, which is very impressive considering he’s historically been a poor Togga scorer.  Lindelof has been gaining attacking returns or clean sheets in basically every game recently!  This weekend United face Southampton at home, and we’re backing them for an easy clean sheet.

GW29 Points Scored:  3.25

🦅 DEF: Jeffrey Schlupp 🦅

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Burnley (Away)

Ownership:  23% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  9.1 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  We haven’t featured Schlupp in recent weeks during his upsurge in form, but we can’t ignore him any more after two double figure returns in a row!  He’s also averaged a great 9.1 points per game since January 12th!  This weekend Palace face a trip to Burnley, and although Schlupp probably won’t get a cleanie, he should bring home a decent points score!

GW29 Points Scored:  18

🍷 GK: Tom Heaton 🍷

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Home)

Ownership:  49% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  7.3 (since Jan 12)

Prospects:  Bunrley’s unbeaten run ended in GW28, as they were defeated by Newcastle.  However, this weekend they face Crystal Palace, and we’re backing them to get back to winning ways!  Palace have actually been scoring a decent amount of goals in recent weeks, so a clean sheet may not happen, but a decent score from save points should.  Look to Dubravka (45% Fantrax) or Ryan (38% Fantrax) if you need an alternative low ownership keeper.

GW29 Points Scored:  -1.75

GW29 Team Points:  52.75

GW29 Team Average Score:  4.8 points per player

GW29 Average Ownership:  29%
