Draft Fantasy Chaps Choices – GW33

Our weekly Chaps Choices article is here to give you hints and tips to help you find your golden ticket to a big score using our Alternative XI.  We recommend a starting eleven of Premier League Draft Fantasy Football differential picks, who could score big in the upcoming gameweek!

For this article we use the ownership statistics as per Draft Fantasy, with the rules being each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 35% or below, at the time of writing.  This way there’s a good chance some of these players will be free agents in your Draft Fantasy Football League.  Use these suggestions to give your team a little boost with a one week punt!

N.B: For the purposes of this article, we use the standard scoring system used by Draft Fantasy – with Bonus Points, but without Kante Bonus.

Blank GW33!

Following on from Double GW32, we’ve now got Blank GW33!  Hopefully you Chaps have been following our End of Season Doubles and Blanks strategy guide, and have already done some planning ahead of GW33.  This weekend features 6 fixtures, as 4 games were rearranged due to clashing with the FA Cup Semi Finals.  There are still plenty of good prospects to tap into despite the limited fixtures!

Draft Fantasy Alternative XI:

**35% ownership or below**

🦅 FWD: Michy Batshuayi 🦅

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Newcastle (Away)

Ownership:  0% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  2.8

Prospects:  Since joining Crystal Palace in January Batshuayi has scored two goals and picked up an assist in making him one of the most sought after low budget strikers for Draft Fantasy managers.  We fully expect Batshuayi to add to his attacking returns tally over the blank GW33!  We don’t expect Newcastle to be particularly strong at the back, despite numerous returns from injury.  In the last 4 GWs Newcastle have shipped 8 goals; surely Batshuayi will bring home the attacking returns this GW!

GW33 Points Scored:  2

⚫️ FWD: Salomon Rondon ⚪️

Team:  Newcastle

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Home)

Ownership:  28% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  4.8 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  In the same fixture as our man Batshuayi, Newcastle have their very own in form striker!  Front man Rondon has netted 9 goals this term, 2 of which have come in the last 3 GWs.  Added to his goals, Rondon also has 5 assists so far this season; making him Newcastles main attacking threat with 117 points scored (Newcastles highest scorer).  Despite picking up their first clean sheet in 5 GWs in GW32 we are not backing Crystal Palace for 2nd cleanie in 3 GWs.  If recent form is anything to go by, 15 goals in 10 GWs, including 2 cleanies we think Rondon will take advantage of a tired defence as Palace enter their 3rd game in 7 days.

GW33 Points Scored:  2

🦁 MID: Ruben Loftus-Cheek 🦁

Team:  Chelsea

Opponent:  West Ham (Home)

Ownership:  2% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  3.5 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects: Having promised so much as Loftus-Cheek came off the back of a promising World Cup and a strong 2017-18 season on loan at Crystal Palace; it has been a frustrating season for the young England star.  Loftus-Cheek has been afforded little opportunities this season, but having only played 563 minutes of Premier League football, impressively he has returned 5 goals and an assist; of which 2 of the goals and the assist came in the last 2 GWs.  It is for that reason we believe Chelsea will keep the faith with Loftus-Cheek certainly for this blank GW33, but even potentially for the remainder of the season.  Jump on the Loftus-Cheek train chaps!

GW33 Points Scored:  6

🍒 MID: David Brooks 🍒

Team:  Bournemouth

Opponent:  Burnley (Home)

Ownership:  23% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  1.6

Prospects:  Brooks has been one of this seasons standout players until injuries started to take their toll.  That being said, for a player many thought would contribute very little this season, 6 goals and 4 assists are not bad attacking returns.  Now that Brooks is back from injury and has completed 4 games since his return; we think his form will start to pick back up.  The fixtures are kind to Brooks as Bournemouth play 5 of the bottom 8 teams in their last 6 GWs; starting with Burnley in this GW33 round.  Burnley have struggled defensively all season and regardless of the returning Heaton, there have only been 3 clean sheets for Burnley in the last 13 GWs.

GW33 Points Scored:  2

🍷 MID: Dwight McNeil 🍷

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Bournemouth (Away)

Ownership:  1% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  3.8

Prospects:  Whilst it has been a disappointing season for Burnley, a real positive has been the emergence of young midfielder McNeil.  McNeil has contributed 3 goals and 3 assists since being introduced to the side in GW19.  Since then the 19 year old has made a huge impact scoring 58 points in only 13 GWs.  Like Burnley, McNeil’s opponents Bournemouth have struggled defensively all season.  8 clean sheets out of 32 doesn’t look too bad, but of late Bournemouth have only kept 1 clean sheet in 8 GWs, and this clean sheet was against Huddersfield – which hardly counts hey chaps!?  Having shipped 16 goals in 8 GWs we fully expect goals in this fixture and for McNeil to be right in the thick of the action!

GW33 Points Scored:  2

🦊 MID: Youri Tielemans 🦊

Team:  Leicester

Opponent:  Huddersfield (Away)

Ownership:  0% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  5.6 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  We called it in our January Transfer Analysis – anyone that has been playing Football Manager 2016/17 will know that Tielemans is a huge talent and would have signed him up immediately!  For all his flaws, ex-Leicester manager Puel made one very successfully move in January bringing Tielemans in.  His form is absolutely red hot with 1 goal and 4 assists in only 7GWs!  GW33 looks to be a promising GW for Tielemans as he does battle with the Premier Leagues worst side, Huddersfield.  As much as we love Huddersfield for being at the centre of the Steve Bruce (Barnes) novels (aka Leddersford Town) they are a struggling side this season, in the last 8 GWs Huddersfield have conceded 18 goals.  If he is free, you MUST sign up Tielemans; he’s going to rip it up!

GW33 Points Scored:  9

🦊 DEF: Ben Chilwell 🦊

Team:  Leicester

Opponent:  Huddersfield (Away)

Ownership:  35% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  3.2

Prospects:  Another absolutely essential GW33 signing if he is available chaps.  Chilwell and his Leicester defensive colleague has an almost bang on certain clean sheet in the offering as they take on a Huddersfield side that has scored only 5 goals in the last 8 GWs and even more shockingly 18 goals all season.  Chilwell has an excellent clean sheet record this season, he has been involved in 8 clean sheets, but Chilwell also offers attacking threats too, with 4 assists to his name this term!

GW33 Points Scored:  2

🔴 DEF: Joel Matip 🔴

Team:  Liverpool

Opponent:  Southampton (Away)

Ownership:  11% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  3.4

Prospects:  Matip has been ever present in the last 10 GWs picking up 4 clean sheets; taking his total to 6 clean sheets for the season!  There is a chance that Matip might get rotated for Lovren this GW, but we think it is a risk worth punting on.  If however you are not as confident, then check out our form guide to see if any of these in-form Draft Fantasy football defenders are available in your league.  Despite Southampton’s improvement in front of goal, we think that if Matip does play; he is on for a cleanie.  Why?  Simply because Southampton will be without key front man Ings and Liverpool can ill afford to slip up.

GW33 Points Scored:  2

🍬 DEF: Seamus Coleman 🍬

Team:  Everton

Opponent:  Arsenal (Home)

Ownership:  34% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  6 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  One of the most inform (and likely available) defenders in Draft Fantasy football at the moment; its 2 clean sheets in the last 2 GWs (Chelsea and West Ham) for Coleman whoalso an assist in GW32 against West Ham.  Whilst we are pretty realistic here chaps, opponents Arsenal are likely to score against Everton, Coleman offers you more in terms of attacking threat.  This season Coleman has a 1 goal and 2 assists meaning if the cleanie fails you have a backup option!

GW33 Points Scored:  6

🔫 DEF: Sead Kolasinac 🔫

Team:  Arsenal

Opponent:  Everton (Away)

Ownership:  31% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs: 3

Prospects:  Kolasinac whilst categorised as a defender is playing in an advanced left wing role making him a very attractive option for GW33 against Everton but also for the remainder of the season.  With 7 assists to his name, Kolasinac has already demonstrated his ability in the final 3rd and will be looking for more of the same in the final stages of the season as Arsenal chase a top 4 finish!  Thinking ahead to the final push towards the end of the season, Kolasinac should be on your radar as he faces only Wolves, Watford, and Leicester from the top 10 in the final 7 GWs!

GW33 Points Scored:  1

😇 GK: Angus Gunn 😇

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Liverpool (Home)

Ownership:  2% (Draft Fantasy Football)

Average Score Last 5 GWs:  5.8 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Purely on form Gunn is the best low budget goalkeeper that is likely to be available and have a fixture for this blank GW33.  However, in reality, Liverpool are probably going to spank Southampton.  So why have we picked Gunn?  Well quite simply chaps, we are looking further afield to the double GW35 round.  Gunn will face both Watford and Newcastle; probably the best fixture combination for GW35.  We’d say these two teams are probably two of the easier teams in the Premier League to play at this stage of the season as Watford are safe from relegation and Newcastle have little fire power up front.  Be sure to jump on Gunn now though chaps, as the more astute managers in your Draft Fantasy league will be eyeing him up.
