Fantrax Chaps Choices – GW37

Our weekly Chaps Choices article is here to give you hints and tips to help you find your golden ticket to a big score using our Alternative XI.  We recommend a starting eleven of Premier League Draft Fantasy Football differential picks, who could score big in the upcoming gameweek!

For this article we use the ownership statistics as per Fantrax (using Togga scoring), with the rules being each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 60% or below, at the time of writing.  This way there’s a good chance some of these players will be free agents in your Draft Fantasy Football League.  Use these suggestions to give your team a little boost with a one week punt!

Fantrax Alternative XI (Togga Scoring):

**60% ownership or below**

Draft Fantasy Football GW37 Fantrax

🍷 FWD: Chris Wood 🍷

Team:  Burnley

Opponent:  Everton (Away)

Ownership:  50% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  11.1 (since Mar 16) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Burnley striker Wood is one of the most in-form players in the Premier League right now, and subsequently be on every Draft Fantasy managers transfer list.  In the last 5 GWs Wood has picked up 3 goals and 3 assists.  The GW37 fixture away to Everton should bring about more attacking returns despite Everton keeping two cleanies on the bounce.  We expect this game to be tightly fought, but with effectively nothing riding on this fixture, we expect both sides to play with freedom!  Wood has averaged over 11 points per game since March 16th; we’re not sure how his ownership is still below our 60% threshold!!

GW37 Points Scored:  4.5

🔵 FWD: Junior Hoilett 🔵

Team:  Cardiff

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Home)

Ownership:  41% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  10.1 (since Mar 16) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  A debut in our Chaps Choices for Hoilett, as he’s been putting in some great scoring in recent weeks.  The Canadian has an average score of over 10 points per game over the last six weeks!  That’s pretty impressive playing for a side facing relegation.  This weekend Cardiff face Palace, and we’re backing Hoilett to bag another decent score.  Cardiff will be going all out for victory in order to have a chance of avoiding relegation, so we’re expecting them to find the back of the net.  Hoilett will be heavily involved in their attacking play.  Mendez-Laing (7% Fantrax) is a good alternative if you don’t fancy Hoilett; the lesser owned Cardiff man has been putting in some solid performances recently.

GW37 Points Scored:  4.5

🍬 MID: Bernard 🍬

Team:  Everton

Opponent:  Burnley (Home)

Ownership:  36% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  8.1 (since Mar 16)

Prospects:  Bernard has been improving his performances in recent months, and has actually turned into a decent Togga scorer; he’s averaged 8.1 points per game since March 16th.  The Brazilian has finally found some rhythm in the Premier League, and looks to be a good bet this weekend as Everton face Burnley.  We’re expecting The Toffees to score a couple of goals, and Bernard is likely to be heavily involved in their attacking play.  Key passes should be incoming.  Fellow Everton man Calvert-Lewin (41% Fantrax) is a good alternative here if you’re after a forward.  DCL has averaged 9.6 points per game over the last six weeks.

GW37 Points Scored:  12.5

🏠 MID: Ryan Babel 🏠

Team:  Fulham

Opponent:  Wolves (Away)

Ownership:  56% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  15.4 (since Mar 16) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Babel’s amazing form continues, and he’s now averaging 15.4 points per game since March 16!!!  And his ownership is still below our 60% ownership threshold.  That’s mental.  This weekend Fulham face a trip to Wolves, and will be confident of getting another result; they have now won three games in a row, and have kept a clean sheet in all three of these games!  Parker is working wonders with this squad, who seem to be playing with freedom now that their relegation has been confirmed.  Babel will be looking to impress once again, as he’s surely eyeing up a big money move to a mid-table Premier League side for one last pay-day.  He definitely deserves it after his form for The Cottagers since joining in January.  Team mate Anguissa (3% Fantrax) has been putting in some solid displays if you’re a Draft Manager in a deep league; he’s averaged 7.4 points per game over the last six weeks.

GW37 Points Scored:  2.5

🍬 MID: Idrissa Gueye 🍬

Team:  Everton

Opponent:  Burnley (Home)

Ownership:  56% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  9.6 (since Mar 16)

Prospects:  Gueye is our steady scoring midfield pick for this week; the Everton man has been putting in some excellent displays in recent weeks.  Gueye has bagged double figure scores in four of his last five games!!  This weekend Everton face Burnley, and we’re expecting The Toffees to get back to winning ways after their 0-0 draw with Palace in GW36.  The Senegalese international gains great stats across the board, as he consistently gets points for tackles and interceptions, and has actually added key passes to his game over the last month!  Hojbjerg (60% Fantrax) is a good alternative here; he’s averaged 11.2 points per game since March 16th, and Southampton face a trip to inconsistent West Ham.

GW37 Points Scored:  9.5

🔵 MID: Victor Camarasa 🔵

Team:  Cardiff

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Home)

Ownership:  57% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  6.8 (since Mar 16)

Prospects:  Cardiff’s main man has been a good Togga scoring asset this season, as he’s come up with decent points scores on many occasions.  This weekend Cardiff host Crystal Palace in a must win game, and Camarasa will be key to their success.  The Spaniard should score well as Cardiff will be going all out to win; they will be all-but relegated unless they beat Palace!  Five goals and four assists playing in a poor side is pretty good going; and an average points per game of 6.8 since March 16th is decent too!  Camarasa could be a great differential for mangers with Playoff fixtures.  Snodgrass (47% Fantrax) is a good alternative here, as the Scotsman is putting in some decent displays recently, and West Ham face Southampton in front of their own fans.

GW37 Points Scored:  4

👹 MID: Juan Mata 👹

Team:  Manchester United

Opponent:  Huddersfield (Away)

Ownership:  49% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  8 (since Mar 16)

Prospects:  11 points and a goal against Chelsea in GW36, Mata looks set to start for United once again this weekend.  Rashford and Lukaku are struggling with injuries, Martial is apparently out of favour, and Lingard has not featured recently.  Mata should start in the attacking three, as The Red Devils face a visit to basement boys Huddersfield.  Despite the poor form of United at the moment, we expect them to win against Huddersfield, and Mata should be in for a decent score.  The Spaniard usually scores well when he’s given a chance from the start!

GW37 Points Scored:  15.5

🔫 DEF: Sokratis 🔫

Team:  Arsenal

Opponent:  Brighton (Home)

Ownership:  42% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  7.9 (since Mar 16)

Prospects:  Backing an Arsenal defender is always risky business, but a clean sheet at home to Brighton may be on the cards.  The Seagulls have only scored one goal in their last four games, so Arsenal have a good chance of a shut-out.  Sokratis is the best performing Gunners defender, as he’s bagged an average of 7.9 points per game since March 16th.  If you don’t fancy an Arsenal defender, then Ryan Bennett (47% Fantrax) is worth a punt, as Wolves host Fulham.  The Cottagers have been on great form in recent weeks though, so we’re not sure Wolves will be able to keep them out.

GW37 Points Scored:  1.25

🍬 DEF: Kurt Zouma 🍬

Team:  Everton

Opponent:  Burnley (Home)

Ownership:  36% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  12.4 (since Mar 16) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Everton have substantially improved their defensive displays in recent months, and we’re backing them to gain another clean sheet this weekend against BurnleyZouma has been playing well, and scoring incredibly well in Togga scoring this season.  The Frenchman has averaged 12.4 points per game since March 16th, and we fully expect a double figure return this weekend. Its now 5 clean sheets in 6 games for The Toffees, you’d be a fool not to sign up Zouma if you still have the chance to!

GW37 Points Scored:  14.5

🦁 DEF: Andreas Christensen 🦁

Team:  Chelsea

Opponent:  Watford (Home)

Ownership:  20% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  3.5 (since Mar 16)

Prospects:  Christensen isn’t a great Togga scoring defender by any means, but the Dane gives us a great opportunity to tap into the defence of a Top 6 side who have a decent fixture.  Chelsea face a home game against Watford, and Christensen will feature after Rudiger has had his season ended through injury.  If you have a Playoff game coming up this weekend, and your opponent has a Chelsea defender, Christensen offers you a great opportunity to cover off any potential Chelsea clean sheet!  Lindelof (40% Fantrax) could be an option here if you don’t trust Chelsea at the moment; United are surely due a clean sheet this weekend against Huddersfield!!

GW37 Points Scored:  11.75

🦅 GK: Vicente Guaita 🦅

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Cardiff (Away)

Ownership:  14% (Fantrax)

Average Points Per Game:  11.7 (since Mar 16) 🔥🔥🔥

Prospects:  Guaita has been in excellent form in recent weeks, and he’s the highest scoring goalkeeper since March 16th!  His points per game average is 11.7!!  Palace face relegation threatened Cardiff this weekend, and although Cardiff may score, we think the Spanish shot-stopper will be able to bring home a decent score.  Cardiff have to win this game, so they should be firing in plenty of shots for Guaita to save.  A decent alternative here is Guaita’s opposition goalkeeper Etheridge (48% Fantrax).  The Cardiff keeper has averaged 7.2 points per game in recent weeks, and could gain another decent score this weekend.

GW37 Points Scored:  9.5

GW37 Team Points:  90

GW37 Team Average Score:  8.2 points per player
